Education

Mr. Geilich received his Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Government from the University of Texas in 1981. He then earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University in 1984.

Court Admissions

Mr. Geilich was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1984. He is also admitted in United States District Courts for the Northern District of Texas, Eastern District of Texas, Southern District of Texas and Western District of Texas, as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Experience

Mr. Geilich began practicing business bankruptcy law immediately upon his licensure in 1984, and has continued that practice through the present. Mr. Geilich has broad experience in all chapters of the Bankruptcy Code, but primarily focuses on Chapter 11 cases. His practice is exclusively devoted to insolvency, reorganization and related areas, including extensive litigation in the bankruptcy court and other federal courts. Mr. Geilich has been counsel for parties involved in all facets of the bankruptcy process including debtors, creditors, landlords, creditors' committees, shareholders, trustees and third party purchasers. His representation has included both public and private companies engaged in a broad spectrum of business enterprises, including oil and gas, real estate, trucking, retail, manufacturing, and aviation. Mr. Geilich has appeared in bankruptcy and other federal and state courts throughout the United States. He is a frequent speaker and writer on various bankruptcy-related topics.
